A national non profit, non-governmental organization that promotes sustainable community development initiatives through public private partnerships is seeking qualified individuals to fill the following positions in its office in the Niger Delta. The organization is implementing a multi-year capacity building project for targeted community based organizations in the Niger Delta. The project office is located in Warri, Delta State but its activities will cover Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, Ondo and Rivers states.
PROJECT OFFICERS
Project Officer (Capacity Building/Institutional Strengthening)
Project Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation)
Under the overall responsibility of the Managing Director, and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Officers will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the activities of different components of the project. The successful candidates will:
- Provide technical assistance to the Project Manager in the implementation of different components of the project
- Formulate, implement and monitor relevant component plans and activities.
- Coordinate activities with the appropriate teams within the project and externally
- Support the Project Manager in formulating strategies for achieving results for the different components.
- Undertake specific activities related to area of specialty as required in the project work plan
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager
Qualifications and experience:
A first degree in social sciences, or other related fields; a Masters degree in the area of specialisation (e.g., Capacity Building/Institutional Strengthening and Monitoring and Evaluation) will be an advantage. A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. Proficiency in the innovative use of MS office package. Must be proactive, team-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to work independently within a team. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good oral and writing skills. Must be ready to travel extensively in the Niger Delta. Experience working with donor agencies will be an advantage.
